Chewy recently sold their business to PetSmart and, as a result, ORIJEN and ACANA foods will no longer be available through Chewy.

Like many of you, we are disappointed in Chewy’s decision to sell their business. The ownership change means they no longer meet our definition of pet specialty.

To be successful in mass retail stores, brands need to invest significantly in advertising. We choose to invest in our foods instead. Our investment goes into research, our unparalleled ingredients, and our world-class kitchens – not advertising.

    For over 25 years, ORIJEN and ACANA have been available exclusively through pet specialty stores.

  • How long will ORIJEN and ACANA be available from Chewy?

    We will stop shipment of ORIJEN and ACANA foods to Chewy/PetSmart on July 25. We expect about four-to-six-weeks for inventory to sell through.

  • Did Chewy know that specialty brands would leave them when they sold to PetSmart?

    We can’t speak for Chewy. Historically, specialty brands have left retailers that sold to mass.
